Mountain Bike Trails at Cederberg

OPEN TIMES

There are four MTB routes leaving Sanddrif campsite that you can combine in any sequence to provide the right trail for you. Get your permits and map from the office.

There are FOUR marked trails starting from Sanddrif Campsite. The trails were initially developed for mountain bikers but trail runners and hikers will also enjoy the variety on offer. Riders can do all these trails in any combination to achieve the desired distance/time on bike.

Wolfberg MTB trail

A 7 km orange trail. This is the farm's original MTB trail that heads up along a gravel road through the valley of the Red Gods past Wolfberg Cracks parking. Then the road gets a little rough before joining the single track just past the stand of pines that takes you down to the river and then back to the campsite (plenty of alternative paths en route). The trail is, by all accounts, much improved and no longer a 'glorified gravel road' but a purpose-built single track.

Kliphuis MTB trail

A 21 km green trail that carries on past the Wolfberg single track climbing up to the Waterfall single track via a jeep track. The trail labels the technical sections. The trail continues along the river (can take the yellow track back to the campsite) along a jeep track before joining another single track to Kliphuis campsite, across a river crossing and along an old water canal.

Lot's Wife MTB trail

a 27 km blue trail that leaves Kliphuis campsite along a new single track to Kalkoenfontein. At the road crossing join the jeep track back towards Dwarsrivier. Look out for the blue markers and the two technical downhill sections. After Lot's Wife take the district road back to Sanddrif.

Maltese MTB trail

A 30 km red trail that heads up to the Maltese Cross hike's parking area along a jeep track and single track. The return past the observatory is fast. Link up with other routes back to Sanddrif.
